New signs and a leisurely ride

Date

Have you seen these new signs? They remind trail users not to hunt, cut trees, or remove plants from the trails. Our trails go through our parklands — the heart and lungs of Nosara — and through part of the Ostional National Wildlife Refuge. (The signs themselves are tied rather than nailed to prevent damage to the trees.) Please help protect our fragile environment!

This Sunday, July 10, the Parroquia Nosara (Nosara Catholic Church) is sponsoring a recreational bike ride. You don’t need to be an expert rider — 90% of the route is flat and has plenty of shade.

The race starts at 9 a.m. at the church. You can choose between a 22 km or a 30 km course on trails and beach paths, through downtown Nosara, San Pedro, Los Ángeles, and Santa Marta.

The cost is 8,000 colones, which includes a T-shirt, a beverage and fruit, and lunch at the finish line. Raffles are also planned.

To register call 8656-1818 or write mtbplayanosara@gmail.com

As many as 300 bicyclists are expected to show up. Watch for these bikers as you’re out and about on the trails this weekend.

Please let us know how you use the trails! Use the Contact Us box at www.nosaracivicassociation.com
