All of Nosara Comes Together to Clean Up The Community

Date

Many times we have said that our dream is for Nosara to be a model community: and it is!

Thanks to the admirable leadership and logistics of Nosara Recicla, this Saturday, March 26th,from 7:00 am to 9:30 am, a community cleanup will be held throughout Nosara (from downtown to Las Delicias de Garza).

To accomplish this, Nosara Recicla divided the community into sectors; 25 cleaning groups were formed – led by development associations, hotels, restaurants, stores and businesses.

If you want to volunteer that day, you can contact WhatsApp 8884-7676 or write to nosararecicla@gmail.com to be assigned to a work group. Do not forget to bring gloves, transparent bags for recycling, regular bags for traditional waste and enough hydration and sun protection.

This initiative is to clean the garbage that is lying in the streets and that could end up in our seas or rivers if we don’t pick it up. This activity does not include collecting items such as washing machines, refrigerators or old items found in the house.

We are sure that these types of activities will inspire other destinations in the country to clean up their communities and thus avoid putting our natural resources at risk.

The Municipality of Nicoya will have two vans to transport the garbage to the landfill located in Santa Cruz.

Improving The Trails

Our trails are more passable than ever. Thanks to a purchase of a blower, we were able to make the NCA trails look cleaner, clearer and more perfect for walking on these sunny summer days. Now those who visit the trails will realize that the paths are more defined and there are fewer chances of getting lost.

We deeply thank our collaborators Rafa and Neje who have done an excellent job recently.

If you would like to donate for signs or arrows to improve signage, you can contact our administrator Marco Villegas at info@nca.cr

The Bridges Have Arrived

If you have passed through the Rempujo, Sube y Baja, and Esperanza streams in recent days, you have noticed a lot of machinery working.

As announced by the First Lady of the Republic, Claudia Dobles, they have already begun the expansion to two lanes for those three bridges that remained pending. This is part of the interventions carried out on Route 160 along with the asphalting of 10 km from Garza-Nosara.

The first lady explained that the bridges could be ready by the end of 2022 to improve passage during the rainy season. This Thursday, March 24th,  Claudia Dobles visited Nosara to inspect the work on the bridge.

New Home for Nosara Food Bank

To support the mission of the Nosara Food Bank, the Nosara Civic Association reached an agreement so that the Food Bank  could relocate in the Nosara Civic Center, owned by the NCA that we share with the ASADA Playas de Nosara.

Thanks to this decision, the Food Bank will now have a better, more centralized space to store food and be able to carry out the entire meal delivery operation.
