Let’s run – walk and explore together on December 12th on the NCA trails

Date

Our skin is starting to feel the summer sun. The climate in Nosara invites us to do more outdoor activities and connect more with nature. We at the Nosara Civic Association have the perfect invitation for this time: the first annual race/walk/hike along the trails of the association and the Ostional National Wildlife Refuge!

The event is the “Nosara Somos Todos” race/walk -a 5.5 km exploration that will be held on Sunday, December 12th at 8:30 am (register, 9am start).  It is an ideal day to share with the family and friends to enjoy the wonderful Nosara Civic Association trails.  Each participant also will receive a fun Nosara Somos Todos hat AND there are tons of prizes for each age group.  Some of the prizes are worth $400!

The event will begin at 8:30 am at the entrance of Playa Guiones known as Baker’s Beach.  Then it will go through K section until it connects with our first path near the Bodhi Tree. Later, it will continue through Guiones and will follow the new path that begins at Gabi’s Place and ends at the road next to the Pelada Tennis Courts. The following map will provide full detail of the route.

How to register?

Starting now you can register for the race by clicking on this link. The price is $ 20 for Costa Rican nationals and $ 35 for foreigners. For families of up to 6 members the price is $ 100.  You can pay the registration fee by PayPal or credit card. (If you have a problem, please contact us directly at info@nca.cr).  Additionally, if you join as a new member of the NCA you will receive a free family or individual registration (note you must email for this option).

Registration includes a fun HAT for all attendees. There will also be a small reception, near the tennis court, where prizes will be awarded to the winners in each age category.  We will also be celebrating our new trail named after Bobbi Johnson. This is to honor Bobbi for all her hard work in defending the environment and conservation efforts in Nosara.

We consider this activity to be a great opportunity for new people who visit us in December to learn more about our organization and the important work we perform in the community. So for everyone who wants to become a new member of the NCA, during the next few days, they will receive a free pass to the race. (This is the link to become a member of the NCA).

The funds raised with this activity will be used to cover the maintenance costs of the network of 12 kilometers of trails of the Nosara Civic Association, and also for the protection of the more than 240 hectares of forest that the association protects.

Please help make this event a success by encouraging your friends, family, clients and visitors to participate. The Ministry of Health has given their endorsement to the event; this is a safe event which complies with all the protocols to prevent the spread of Covid-19.  All permits are in hand!
