This is How The “Controlled Opening” Phase Will Work For October

After seven months of pandemic, today Costa Rica closes the month of September with a total of 75,760 confirmed cases of Covid-19, of which 37,841 have been recovered.

According to the latest report with district data, from the Ministry of Health, Nosara registers 28 active cases, for a total of 63 accumulated cases.

The Ministry of Health also confirmed that 574 people are hospitalized, of which 222 are treated in intensive care.

For this month of October, the country continues in the phase of “controlled opening”. How does it work? Here is a summary with the main changes.

Remember that the wearing of a mask is mandatory in closed spaces.

 

Vehicular restriction

During the month of October, the restriction will remain the same as the previous month. From Monday to Friday the hours to circulate will be from 5 to. m. to 10 p. m. Vehicles are restricted from driving according to the last number of the license plate. The restrictions are:

  • Monday: 1 and 2
  • Tuesday: 3 and 4
  • Wednesday: 5 and 6
  • Thursday: 7 and 8
  • Friday: 9 and 0

Driving hours on Saturdays and Sundays remains from 5 a.m.. to 8 p. m. and the restrictions on cars with license plates ending in the following numbers is as follows:

  • Saturday: 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 (no circulating)
  • Sunday: 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 (no circulating)

Entrance of tourists

As of October 1, Jamaica, Mexico and the states of California and Ohio will be added as points of origin for the entry of people to the national territory.

Schedule to visit the beaches of the Refuge

The beaches of Nosara such as Guiones and Pelada are part of the Ostional National Wildlife Refuge. The Refuge’s health protocols must be respected. Visiting hours are Monday to Sunday from 5 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.for the month of October. The beach is open for recreational or sports activities as long as you are on the go. Stationary activities like yoga are not allowed. It is also not allowed to enter the beach with coolers, chairs, awnings, umbrellas, or stay in one place. The social bubble must be of maximum five people, crowds are not allowed and the distance between people and social bubbles must be at least 1.8 meters.

 

 Business establishments

The hours of commercial establishments remain the same throughout the country – Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 5 a.m. to 8:0.0. p.m. For the month of October bars, discos and casinos will remain closed. Also, activities such as concerts,topes, popular festivities, tournaments or any other type of mass event are still prohibited.

 

Public transport

In yellow or orange alert, public transport will be able to work regularly with taxis and buses. Buses must make their trips without people standing. The use of masks is mandatory both in buses and in taxis.
